(RTTNews) - Clearmind Medicine (CMND) announced the publication in Japan of a patent application covering novel compositions and methods for treating dyskinesia, a neurological movement disorder characterized by involuntary movements.

The published application covers the use of 3-Methylmethcathinone (3-MMC) for preventing, treating or reducing dyskinesia symptoms, including pharmaceutical compositions containing 3-MMC.

The patent application also includes claims covering combinations of 3-MMC with N-acylethanolamines, including Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), a compound with established anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties.

The patent applications are part of an ongoing collaboration between Clearmind and NeuroThera Labs (NTLX.V), under which PEA technology is being integrated into Clearmind's psychedelic-derived therapeutic programs.

Clearmind said the Japanese patent publication strengthens its intellectual property position for its 3-MMC-based approach to dyskinesia and potential combination therapy with PEA.

Clearmind's intellectual property portfolio currently includes 19 patent families and 32 granted patents covering its therapeutic programs and technologies.

Clearmind Medicine is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing non-hallucinogenic, second-generation neuroplastogen-derived therapeutics for neuropsychiatric, metabolic and addiction disorders, including alcohol use disorder.

Currently, CMND is trading at $6.55, down 0.76%.

On October 1, NTLX.V's shares closed trading at $4.40, without any movement on the TSX Venture Exchange.
